Day Three: Candy colours
I am now blogging from my phone which seems a very efficient method.

Day two: colour me happy
My next granny square isn't yet pushing my boundaries but it is pretty. I use the same basic square from yesterday using three double crochet and working in a loop.
The two colours are used from the left over of a blanket I made for a friend fairly recently so it is on the top of my rag pile.
Here is that blanket. I think the colours really compliment each other and it was only made using basic 100g balls of wool from the local cheap shop. It's a corner to corner pattern. See you again tomorrow.

Day One - The Basics & Me
So lent rolls around again for another year and my chocolate collection is stashed under my bed out of sight and out of mind. However after giving up chocolate for the last couple of years that challenge didn't really seem good enough this year.
So I thought of what else I could do to challenge myself and maybe do some good at the same time and I fell back on my love for Crochet.
I may only be 21 but from the time my grandmother first handed me a crochet hook and a ball of wool I was hooked (excuse the pun).

Today is the first day of my 40 days challenge to create a blanket which I can donate to a worthy cause. Part two involves you. I want to raise a bit of money as I go. If you would like you can get involved and sponsor a square on its journey. Whether it 20p, £2 or £20 someone will benefit from it.
I am still in the process of deciding on the perfect charity so watch this space but for now I have posted a photo of my first granny square ... The basic one.
